This week’s musing asks…
How far along are you in your current read before you start thinking about what you’ll read next?
I always have a list in my head of books I want to read so when I start a new book I am already thinking about my next read. That does not mean I will actually read what I plan. Things happen. I see something that looks interesting and it goes to the top of my list. I think that list in my head is a defense to a make sure I am never out of a book to read. I suspect I would panic if there was not a book around to read. Do I need help? I don't think so. There are much worse things to panic about.
Some of my reading plan is out of my hands because I participate in two book groups where someone else chooses the books for the month from a local library stack. They are not the most recent publications either, which is frustrating. However, I try to plan other books I want to read in my head, hoping life's little dramas don't get in the way!
ReplyDeleteGreat answer - I am the exact same way! There are so many good books coming out this year alone, so it's tough to stay focused on what I'm currently reading, without looking forward to the next one. :)

Yes, I like to have a plan, but sometimes change it.

Ha! If I didn't have a "next book" to read I'd totally be panicked. Luckily, there are way more books to read than I have time for!
ReplyDeleteMy Musings!
I always have a list in my head too, but obligations are a priority. That's why I'm cutting back on them.
ReplyDeletenope, I plan not a thing. who knows what I might feel like when I finish this one??

ReplyDeleteI usually don't choose my next book, however, sometimes I do. It all depends on what I have on my schedule for the week.
ReplyDeleteHello! Thanks for visiting my blog!
ReplyDeleteI am very bad at planning ahead. I almost never plan. The reading challenges have made me a little more disciplined, I guess but I still love to be spontaneous.
