50 Ways to Ruin a Rake by Jade Lee

50 Ways to Ruin a Rake (Rakes and Rogues, #1)Historical Romance

From Goodreads:

Mellie has a plan…
Mellie Smithson is trapped in the country with no suitors and no prospects on the horizon except, perhaps, the exasperating—although admittedly handsome—guest of her father. She's looking for any excuse to go to London to meet more eligible men.

Trevor has a problem…
Trevor Anaedsley's grandfather has cut off his funds until such time as he gets engaged. Trevor escapes to the country—ostensibly to visit his old tutor, Mr. Smithson, but actually to duck his creditors—where he meets Smithson's lovely daughter, Mellie. The obvious solution is suddenly before him—but the lady has ideas of her own, and Trevor's going to have to measure up…

Jade Lee has used a tried and true concept for Trevor and Mellie.  Trevor needs fiancée and Mellie needs a way to go where she can meet eligible men.  While there was not new twist to the theme it is still a very nice story.

They both agree they do not like each other so a fake engagement is just the thing for both.  Look for romance and a lot of steamy sex as they work toward their HEA.  There are also two unusual duels that produced laugh out loud moments.

Lee tells a great story and 50 Ways to Ruin a Rake is no exception.  Lizzie and Trevor are both great characters.  There were some interesting side characters that need their own story.  Maybe they will be the main characters in future stories.
