New Series

Heiress for Hire (A Duke's Heiress #1)Heiress for Hire by Madeline Hunter
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

How did the Duke get her name. That is the big question in this new series. It is answered and the result is a very satisfying story. There is something dark in both of the main characters past but it just adds to the tension in the story. Great start to new series. Love all the characters and the mystery.

Hit the Spot

Paladin (Galactic Gladiators: House of Rone #4)Paladin by Anna Hackett
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Dr. Simone Li and Toren are a pair who just do not want to fall in love so of course it happens. This was just what I needed to read right now. A fun series with great characters and villains who are truly bad. Great action, Li's daughter Grace is wonderful and the romance as always is very satisfactory. This is book four. There is the set up for book 5 as the story ends. According to the author that will be the last in the House of Rone series.

One Down More to Go

The Bachelor (Duke Dynasty, #2)The Bachelor by Sabrina Jeffries
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Predictable but fun. Two interesting main characters, each with secrets and each not at all looking for love. Other characters are also fun to watch. One mystery solved in this one but there is a much bigger problem on the horizon. Second in series it does stand alone.

Works

Pain Free: A Revolutionary Method for Stopping Chronic PainPain Free: A Revolutionary Method for Stopping Chronic Pain by Pete Egoscue
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I used their method almost 20 years ago when I had plantar fasciitis and it worked wonders. I am much older now and I have done something that is causing knee pain. The book contains E-cises that are designed to get your body back in alignment and stop the pain. They worked for my feet and they are working for my knees. They do take a lot of time as you have to hold certain positions for up to 45 minutes but this is much better than surgery or drugs. Check the book out if you are experiencing any type of chronic pain.

I am reposting this.  In January I hurt my hip. I could not walk without pain.  My knee started hurting because of the way I was walking.  I used Pain Free again and it worked.  It is not quick.  It took weeks but if you are having any type of pain this is a good way to make it go away.  Since you are housebound you have lots of time to do this.

About Time

A Murderous Relation (Veronica Speedwell, #5)A Murderous Relation by Deanna Raybourn
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Veronica Speedwell and her colleague Stoker are relaxing when a request comes in that sends them off on another adventure. Veronica gets to know another of her relatives and quite likes him. All of this is with Veronica, Stoke and the relative in great danger. Set at the same time as the Jack the Ripper crimes there is a lot of history in the background of the story. This was a nice conclusion to a problem from a previous book. More and more people know who Veronica's father is. It just keeps coming up and causing trouble. Oh! Veronica and Stoker finely find time to get together in a more intimate way. About time!!!

I received a free copy of the book in return for an honest review.

Stay Tuned

Line of Fyre (Alien Dragon Shifters Book 2)Line of Fyre by Cara Bristol
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

What can you do to make something right. Sometimes you just have to take a deep breath and go where you might not like. That is what the Presidents Daughter found herself doing. A nice mix of action and romance, This is book two and ends with a lead into the next book, in other words a cliff hanger ending.. I loved the characters and the world building. There were some surprises and enough action to keep me reading.

I received a free copy of the book from the author in return for an honest review.

Back To Wind River

Wind River Undercover (Wind River Valley #9)Wind River Undercover by Lindsay McKenna
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

A Little Different: This time we have two DEA agents who take one last assignment. They are undercover and not undercover. Of course there is a big attraction as they work tighter. Again Lindsay has a theme running through the book and again she hits it with a sledge hammer. It is different this time. A good story and nice ending for the two main characters.

Hope First in Series

ConvictionConviction by Glynn Stewart
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Told in the first person by Kira Demirci Conviction takes you into a world that is coming apart at the seams. Kira and her squad had a death mark on them and it follows when she runs. Turns out there are more enemies that she ever though. Great world building and interesting back story. Each add to a plot that is familiar but different enough to keep me reading. Hope this is first in series as things were solved but much left up in the air.

Arkansas Connection

The WarehouseThe Warehouse by Rob Hart
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is a Three main Character book. There is Paxton, Zinnia and the founder of the cloud. I really enjoyed the set up and world building in the book. It was both different and interesting. Paxton and Zinnia both were interesting characters. There was no clear resolution to the problems the book presented. Would Paxton leave or would he stay. What happened to Zinnia. Left up to the reader to decide. This book will be featured in the Six Rivers Book Festival here in Central Arkansas. It does have an Arkansas Connection.
