Quiet in Her Bones by Nalini Singh
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
I liked the setting but the story just did not catch me. Nalini Singh's paranormal series are much better.

finally
Driven by Rebecca Zanetti
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Finally Angus and Nari get together but not without a lot of danger and tension. Great story that leaves the gang together at the end.

Solid Plot
Smoke Bitten by Patricia Briggs
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Mercy has a lot on her plate and more than one someone is after her. There are some really interesting additions to this series in Smoke Bitten. Adam is having trouble, a new wolf pack is trying to take over and Underworld is up to something. Some things are solved and some are hanging. A good solid plot arc with more to come.

Interesting
The War Widow by Tara Moss
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Billie Walker is home from the war and taking up running her Father's PI business. There is a lot going on. Is Billie really a war widow? Can she make it in a male dominated profession? Set in Sidney immediately after the war there is a lot of world building, character development, and plot to fit into one book. A really interesting look at Sidney in the 1940's. All wrapped up in a mystery that started in Germany.

Interesting Premise
The Valiant by J.J. Green
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
This is just a set up for the series. A lot is learned but no much is resolved. I enjoyed the story and do want to see where it will go from here.

Good Start
The Bounty Hunter by Jasper T. Scott
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
A good start to a new series. The characters are interesting, there are some surprises, and the plot moves at a brisk pace. Look for a real surprise at the end.

Great Story to Read Today
A Family for the Titanic Survivor: An uplifting love story by Lauri Robinson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Bridget McGowen has a very different journey from the one she expected. A Titanic survivor she is also the reason a young child survives. That brings all the players into the story. I have followed Lauri Robinson since she first started publishing in a small press. It has been a while since I read one of her stories and I forgot how much I like her writing. There are some interesting historical facts in the plot line as well as very likable characters. A good read for the time we are experiencing.

Love Lasts
Out of the Storm by B.J. Daniels
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
This is a little Different from other B.J. Daniels books. It has the elements you would expect but they are mixed a little differently. You can look for romance and tension and danger. The ending is a little unexpected but fits the story line. Love last forever is the big theme.

Good Entro to Several Series
Dark Knight Station: Origins by Nathan Lowell
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
A look at how Dark Knight Station got its name and came to be. A nice intro to the series Nathan Lowell writes. His series are interlocking with characters who appear in more than one series. These are great books to read right now. They are about the everyday lives of the characters and leave you with a good feeing.

Short Story
When She Was Naughty by Tessa Dare
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Short and not a wasted word. This short story has everything needed to tell the story of two people who saw the world very differently. The fun is seeing how they come to make it right again. Two great characters and a easy to love ending.

Must Read
The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse by Charlie Mackesy
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
A great book club book. Great for anyone who needs a uplifting story. The four unusual friends have some great wisdom to pass on. Short and easy to read. It is also a great re-read book. I loved the prose and drawings and know I will go back many time to read.
On several best of 2020 lists.

Read First
The Governess Gambit by Erica Ridley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Read this before The Duke Heist also by Erica Ridley. This sets up everything that happens in book one
The Wilde Wynchesters are a great group, each with their on story to tell. Erica did a great job giving each their own talent and while stilll leaving making it very plain that they are a family. Fun romp and a quick and easy read.
