Teaser Tuesday May 29, 2012

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

  • Grab your current read
  • Open to a random page
  • Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
  • BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
  • Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers.
1633 (Assiti Shards, #2)My teaser this week is from 1633 by Eric Flint and David Weber.  This is the second book in the series.  I just listened to book one, 1632. on CD.  I read both books when they first came out but then lost out on the series so I am re-reading before I start reading the series again.  Here is my teaser from page 5 on my Nook:

"She reminded herself, very firmly, that being disarmed in the presence of Richelieu was the one thing she could least afford.  For all his brains and his charm, the cardinal was almost certainly the most dangerous enemy her nation faced at the moment."

  1. Oh, that sounds very promising...and it sounds like a good series if you're rereading it.

    Thanks for sharing.

  3. I have been meaning to read this series for a while. I think the first one is available at the Baen Free Library but haven't checked lately. I'm really trying (and failing miserably) to read what I have before getting anything new. Happy reading!

  4. I think I might like this series. I shall have to check it out. But, much later this summer, I'm on a reading from my shelf until Aug. 1st kick. Just need to get the pile smaller.
