Unlocked” A Oral History of Haden’s Syndrome by John Scalzi and Twelfth Night by Deanna Raybourn

Since both are novellas I decided to put them on one post even though one is Science Fiction and one is a Historical Mystery.

I received Unlocked in an email from Tor.  It does two things.  It is an oral history of Haden’s Syndrome told by various people who were witnesses and builds the world for Scalzi’s upcoming novel, Lock In.  It is free on Tor’s website.  It is very interesting and after reading I am ready to read Lock In.

I have followed Lady Julia Grey and her husband Nicolas Brisbane from book one.  Twelfth Night is a great little story to add to the collection.  Julia and Nicolas need to find the mother of the abandoned baby.  Along the way we get to know one of Julia’s young nieces and discover what changes are coming for Julia and Nicolas.  A lot is packed into the story as well as a hint about the next case the two take.  I enjoyed Twelfth Night and enjoyed seeing two of my favorite characters and the changes that are happening in their lives.
