Short and Sweet Book Reviews # 187 - Bad Bachelor by Stefanie London, The Masked City by Genevieve Cogman

Bad Bachelor (Bad Bachelors, #1)Bad Bachelor by Stefanie London
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Reed McMahon does not want any attachments. He is the king of one night stands. Darcy Greer is afraid of making another mistake by choosing the wrong man. This is a familiar trope with Reed the damaged soul and Darcy the unlikely choice. I enjoyed the story and the Bad Bachelor app is something that could show up at any time. First in a new series it provides background for this book and futures books in the series. A nice read but don't look for any surprises in how everything turns out. Story is very predictable.

I received a free copy of the book in return for an honest review.

The Masked City (The Invisible Library, #2)The Masked City by Genevieve Cogman
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Once again the voice of the reader grated on my nerves at first and then I got used to it. She did a very good job of giving the story the right feeling and the story was very good. This is one of those that end with the fate of one of the main characters up in the air. The plot was interesting, the characters fit the world they live in and the action kept up non- stop. A nice second book in the series. It told a complete story with the main problem solved. Still it had a little of a cliffhanger ending making me wish I had book three in hand.
