Fools and Mortals by Bernard Cornwell
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Bernard Cornwell is well know for his historical fiction. This time he takes on William Shakespeare but William is not the main character. His brother Richard is front and center while William is an interesting but important side character. Richard is an actor is his bother's company. This is a great blend of fact and fiction. You get an inside view of the times when William was both writing and acting. Life was both hard and dangerous. Richard's life was not that easy but it was fun watching him find ways to keep himself safe from harm and at the same time find romance. An interesting look at history that is filled with familiar names.
On Andross Station by J.C. Long
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
An interesting tale about duty and betrayal. Two very different people join together to save the station. Along the way Hikaru Adachi puts duty before his job and Thane finds that he has more in common with Hikaru than he would have believed. This has action, tension, danger and betrayal as the two work to solve the mystery and stop the damage to the station. For both this is a life changing event.
I received a free copy of the book in return for an honest review.
