Short and Sweet Book Reviews # 353 - Terminal Uprising by Jim C. Hines, Gate Crashers by Patrick S. Tomlinson

Terminal Uprising (Janitors of the Post-Apocalypse, #2)Terminal Uprising by Jim C. Hines
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I love Mops and her crew. When last seen they had left in the Pufferfish and I was left wondering what they would get up to. Seems that they have spent the last few months dodging capture and as this adventure opens they are sent off on a mission to Earth. What follows is a plot full of action, adventure, tension, danger and discovery. Once again their janitorial skills come in handy in defeating the enemy. I really liked how the crew changed and grew as they faced events that were both dangerous and uplifting. You would think they would get a rest but as this task ends they are presented with another. That one is for the next book.

I received a free copy of the book in return for an honest review.

Human Wildlife Preserve. Keep Out is just part of the fun in this book. The characters are great. The dialog over the top and the story full of danger, tension and adventure. I loved the world building and the backstory. The crews out in space and the ones on Earth do a great job of keeping the story and plot moving. I listened to this on CD in my car and at times I was laughing so hard any one who saw me driving and laughing wonder if something was wrong with me. Alyssa Bresnahan as the narrator had just the right tone for the dialog and the descriptive phrases that Tomlinson used. I wondered if he stayed up nights putting them together and finding the perfect place to use them. I hated to say goodby to this great group of characters but I think this is a stand alone.
