Christmas Romance

The Cowboy Who Saved ChristmasThe Cowboy Who Saved Christmas by Jodi Thomas
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Three feel good stories that center around Christmas. Jodi Thomas; Sharla Lovelace; Scarlett Dunn each take a different slant on having their characters get to their HEA's and each is fun to read. I loved Thomas's story with the young girls who really take over the tale. It was my favorite but I liked them all. A nice set of stories to read while having to stay at home.

Comissario Guido Brunetti

Trace Elements (Comissario Guido Brunetti #29)Trace Elements by Donna Leon
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

They killed him. It was bad money. When a dying woman tell this to Comissario Guido Brunetti it starts him on a search for the truth. Who was killed. Why was the money bad. Again this Donna Leon has written a slow moving and hard to put down mystery. I love seeing Venice through her eyes and know I would be disappointed if I went today. Too many tourist changing the feeling of the city. The crimes Brunetti investigates are interesting and keep the story line fresh. A great series and easy to read while having to stay away from others.

Low Key Romance

A Duke, the Lady, and a Baby (Rogues and Remarkable Women, #1)A Duke, the Lady, and a Baby by Vanessa Riley
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

There is a lot of history in this story the Lady lost her baby after her husband died. One man tries to keep her away another saves her. In between there is tension, danger and romance. A very low key romance that happens over time. If you like clean romances with interesting plots this is for you.

Really, Ten Things

Ten Things I Hate About the Duke (Difficult Dukes, #2)Ten Things I Hate About the Duke by Loretta Chase
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Cassandra really dislikes the Duke and with good reason. They have a history with a big misunderstanding from years ago. Then they reconnect and the Duke has a change of heart. It is Cassandra who resists the pull between the two. A unreadable Father, a wonderful sister and a dangerous emend all make an exciting read. Look of numerous surprises as the plot unfolds.

Not an Angel

Wingman (Alien Castaways, #2)Wingman by Cara Bristol
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Delia and her daughter are not looking for a man to come into their lives but that is just what happens. There is danger and tension as Wingman first rescues Delia's daughter and then becomes important in their lives. Once again one of the alien castaways meets and claims their mate. Just the right amount of danger, romance and tension.

Mystery and Romance All in One Package

Who Wants to Marry a Duke (Duke Dynasty #3)Who Wants to Marry a Duke by Sabrina Jeffries
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Two great characters are featured in this third book in the Duke Dynasty series. Miss Olivia Norley and Marlowe Drake have a past history when they once again cross paths. Filled with misunderstandings and in Drake's case a secret the romance is off to a very rocky start. In fact it is a stand still. Even so when danger rears it ugly head the two have to work together and a romance gets a fresh start, Good mystery worked into the story line. Look for more about that in future books.

All the Great Elements

Happily This Christmas: A NovelHappily This Christmas: A Novel by Susan Mallery
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Wynn and Garrick have been neighbors for a long time with just passing hello's between the two. That changes when Garrick's daughter come to stay. Lots of drama, some humor, great main and side characters, and of course a romance. Add a wedding to the mix and Garrick really messing up and you have a great book. Loved seeing the previous characters as well.

Just Quits

FearlessFearless by Allen Stroud
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I hope this is a series as the book just ends without much of a resolution. I liked the beginning but found too many info dumps as the story progressed. It slowed the action down and while it provided some information it left the main point of the story up in the air. I will check out the next book as I want to know if the main point is still to be addressed.

Keeps Getting Better and Better

City of Schemes (A Counterfeit Lady #4)City of Schemes by Victoria Thompson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The Counterfeit Lady just keeps getting better and better. Elizabeth Miles is at it again - using her talents to help friends and destroy enemies. Of course sometimes it is just people who are not very nice she puts in their place. There are so many con's in this story it is hard to follow who is doing what to whom. Loved the plot and it gave me a few laughs out loud moments. Something much needed to day.

Work Is Not Everything

A Heartfelt Christmas Promise: A NovelA Heartfelt Christmas Promise: A Novel by Nancy Naigle
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

When work is all you think about something must be missing. Vanessa Larkin only had work until an unexpected project took her to a small North Carolina town. Work changed, people became more important, family came to share Christmas and Vanessa found that there were more important things than work. Great clean romance with very interesting characters and a great plot.

Another New Series

Ink & Sigil (Ink & Sigil, #1)Ink & Sigil by Kevin Hearne
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

A great new series by Kevin Hearne. Set after the time line in The Iron Druid and in the same world this takes a very different track. The main character is human and one of five sigil makers. He has wide duties and it is when he is working on one of those that something comes into his life. Great characters, interesting plot, and tension by the bucket loads. In addition there are some very good laughs. One thing is settled but much remains. I will definitely pick up the next book when it comes out.

Many Laughs

Disorderly Conduct (The Anna Albertini Files #1)Disorderly Conduct by Rebecca Zanetti
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Anna Albertini is a very different main character from most of Rebecca Zanetti characters and she really hits the spot for today. The book is full of humor and has many laugh out loud moments as Anna works her way into danger. Added to the danger are three very different but sexy men who try to control Anna. Love all of them and get a big kick as their efforts go astray. Great light hearted story that is the first in a new series. I will be looking for the next book.
