This is a year I am happy to see end.  A move that did not go well, a back injury that was slow to heal and then the VIRUS.  I have been very isolated and see more to come.  At least the vaccine is in the pipeline so hope is in the air.  Thanks to all who have followed me.  You may have noticed that everything happening affected my reading.  Not as many books and most of what I did read was novella length.  Hope to do better in the coming year.

New Danger

Jamokan: A Badari Warriors SciFi Romance NovelJamokan: A Badari Warriors SciFi Romance Novel by Veronica Scott
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Another Alpha bites the dust. Jamokan needs to change his thinking and who better to do that than a woman from Earth. Finding a mate is not easy and this journey is no different. There are things outside the norm as the two are first thrown together and then on the run. Loved how Rosemari Parcher used her time with humans and Badari to see things that need to be changed. Great addition to the story. The Khagrish have come new twists up their sleeves. They are becoming even more of a problem as the story arc progresses.

Trilogy's End

The Queen's Triumph (Rogue Queen, #3)The Queen's Triumph by Jessie Mihalik
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

A good ending to this trilogy. Samara. and Valentine finally get to their HEA but not before one other character has to bite the dust. A lot of tension and danger as the two work together to end the threat. Also a lot of romance. Loved the ending.

Light Hearted

Bailed Out (The Anna Albertini Files, #2)Bailed Out by Rebecca Zanetti

I love Anna Albertini and everything she gets into. While there is a murder and a mystery this is at heart a light hearted series. There is one scene I dare anyone to read without dissolving into laughs. Great second book in series. Oh! While I love Anna I also adore Aiden.

Much Lighter

Archangel's Sun (Guild Hunter, #13)Archangel's Sun by Nalini Singh
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

a nice change pace for the series. There are still thing that have to be hunted down and destroyed but the whole feeling of the book is much lighter. Titus is a fun character and Hummingbird is more than his match. There are some funny moments as the two interact. Of course they face danger as well. I loved both characters. they fit the story and the arc of the plot.

Who Wants Revenge

Love Is BlindLove Is Blind by Lynsay Sands
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Two characters each with a secret. One cannot see and one does not want to be seen. What a great match. It is fun to watch the two meet and fall in love. Of course neither will admit it until something happens that changes their mind. There is romance but also tension as one of the two is in a lot of danger and it takes time to find the person responsible.

The Duke Heist (The Wild Wynchesters #1)The Duke Heist by Erica Ridley

A fun new group to follow. The Wild Wynchesters are a very unusual family. When a Duke has something that belongs to them they plan a heist. Of course parts of it go wrong and someone gets their heart broken then replied. A really fun group of characters with a lot of chances for future stories.

Love Rico

DeceptionDeception by Nina Croft
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Milo Velazquez has been sent on a mission by his uncle. That is Rico, his kind of uncle. Yes that is the Rico from Dark Desires. He is now a character in Dark Desires Origins and while a side character he is still the one the plot hangs on. Milo is front and center is Deception. He needs to find out about the leader on a neighboring planet and as he looks he meets and bonds with Destiny. She has a role to play but does not know what it is. We of course know it is not something good. Great story, wonderful characters, and hard to put down plot line.

Bree Taggert has her hands full. Her sister's two children, her new job and now a crime that may not be real. The plot is well planned. I loved how Bree handles her problems. Look for a love interest and to see the sisters from the previous series become aside characters in. See Her Die. A good new series to follow.

Gideon Hawthorne is the rogue and Messalina Greycourt is his match. Look for a lot of tension, some surprising reveals and how two change their minds and hearts. While Gideon and Messalina find their HEA the real rogue or villain is still out there. They may have gotten away but there are more Greycourt's left to find danger, tension and finally romance.

Good To Visit Again

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

It has been a long time since I was in Virgin River and I wondered if I would recognize it. It has not changed that much. Two new characters appear and most of the ones from the series. Jack's is still the center of the town and Mel is right there with him. Like many who come to Virgin River Kaylee Sloan is a little lost and is looking to pull out of her grief after her Mother died on Christmas Day. She find more than she expected. There is a lot of visiting and a slow romance. A cute kitten, puppies and two great dogs to add to the mix. A nice story about overcoming grief and finding some unexpected surprises.

New Cause

Silver Creek Fire (Silver Creek, #1)Silver Creek Fire by Lindsay McKenna
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Lea and Logan kick off a new series by Lindsay McKenna. Once again McKenna has cause  to push. This time it is fracking and if you did not know anything about it before you read the story you will have knowledge as you finish. Vets are part of the story but more as a side issue this time. This is a slow burning romance as Lea has some issues from her past that have kept her fearful. Logan is just the one to bring her out of her shell and into the light. Nice setting. I think if we could find that valley we would all move there.

Again this Donna Leon has written a slow moving and hard to put down mystery. I love seeing Venice through her eyes and know I would be disappointed if I went today. Two great characters are featured in this third book in the Duke Dynasty series. Miss Olivia Norley and Marlowe Drake have a past history when they once again cross paths. Filled with misunderstandings and in Drake's case a secret the romance is off to a very rocky start. In fact it is a stand still. Anna Albertini is a very different main character from most of Rebecca Zanetti characters and she really hits the spot for today. The book is full of humor and has many laugh out loud moments as Anna works her way into danger. Added to the danger are three very different but sexy men who try to control Anna.
