No Incentive to Continue

Orb and Arrow: Book I: ExplorationOrb and Arrow: Book I: Exploration by V.L. Stuart
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

There is a lot going on in the book but for me it never went anywhere. It is exploration and our two main characters do a lot of that. Along the way. there is danger and adventure but I never saw a goal. They just wandered and met different people. Entertaining but no incentive to read the next book in the series.

They Belong Together

Love and Other Perils: A Regency Novella DuetLove and Other Perils: A Regency Novella Duet by Emily Larkin
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

What do a Liberian and a Scientist and a solider and the daughter have in common. They each have the main role in a novella in this book. The solider and the daughter have a very messy adventure. The Liberian and the Scientist find they have a lot in common. It just takes a few pages to see that each belongs with the other. Fun stories and easy reading. Something we all need in this troubled time.

The Past Returns

Fleet ElementsFleet Elements by Walter Jon Williams
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Martinez and Sula are thrown together 10 years after the last book in the series. Once again they work and defeat the enemy but at great cost. While the battle is a large part of this story line the relationship between Martinez and Sula is again center stage. Things look great for the two but there is another player who can really change the relationships and destroy both. How does it end. Badly.

Shy!!!

Say Yes to the Duke (The Wildes of Lindow Castle, #5)Say Yes to the Duke by Eloisa James
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Viola Astley is shy and retiring or is she. Mix up love at first sight with a big mix up between the characters (who belongs with who). This is a romance filled with fun and tension. Loved the play and how Noah responded to his role. Really like how Viola found her voice and was not shy at all.

Wrong Story For Me At This Time

Dance Away with MeDance Away with Me by Susan Elizabeth Phillips
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

This was a good story but still a disappointment to me. I wanted something with humor and laughter but this had too many series plot lines and not enough light heartiest. I like the characters but this was too serious for this time in my life.

A little to true to what is going on here. This feature a Plague that arrives at a distant colony. Good characters, a interesting plot and a hot romance. I enjoyed visiting the Sectors once again. Great way to pass the time while locked in to stay safe.

New Characters

Milk Run (Smuggler's Tales From The Golden Age Of The Solar Clipper, #1)Milk Run by Nathan Lowell
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This brings Natalya and her friend into the Golden Age of the Solar Clippers. Both on the run,, both with secrets and both facing danger there is a glimpse of the plot line facing Ish and friends. A nice way to eventually bring the two different groups together. A interesting mix of characters and a plot that has the tension needed for the story line. Read after you get to know Ish and friends to get the tie in. Book one of a trilogy.

Unanswered Questions

A Minute to Midnight (Atlee Pine #2)A Minute to Midnight by David Baldacci
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

We find out more about Atlee as she returns to the place where she was injured and her twin taken. A lot happens as she sifts through the past and comes up on the future. A nice mystery with interesting characters - some new, some old. There is a big surprise at the end and a big thread for the next book. The big question - will she every solve the mystery of her twins disappearance.

Deep Ops

Broken (Deep Ops #3)Broken by Rebecca Zanetti
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Turns out Wolfe is not as broken as he thinks. It just takes the right person, a dangerous man, and some quality time together to convince him. This has it all: a great set of characters, a interesting plot, a real villain, hard to put down tension and of course romance. I love the Deep Ops group. They just keep winning while everyone tries to shut them down.
