New Series

Restless Hearts (Montana Justice #1)Restless Hearts by B.J. Daniels
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Blaze and Jake have a history that tore them apart Now they are together and taking on the town and neighbors to prove her Father is innocent of murder. There is romance, danger, tension and a plot full of twists and turns. First in the Montana Justice series it is a high bar for the rest of the series to meet.

Welcome to Donovan

UnreconciledUnreconciled by W. Michael Gear
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Donovan still has stories to tell. This time the cast of characters includes some new comers. Some good, some not so good, and some that remain a mystery. Love the action, hate when someone I really like dies, and find the plot to be interesting and different. This is one story Donovan has to tell but there are more waiting as the story ends. Welcome to Donovan.

Not Your Typical Space Opera

The Eleventh GateThe Eleventh Gate by Nancy Kress
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is typical Nancy Kress as in nothing in the plot is typical. What starts as an accident war moves on to follow different characters as some try to win and some try to stop the coming action Interesting concepts, a different conclusion and a hard to put down story.

Typical of Middle Books in a Trilogy

Queen of the Unwanted (The Women's War, #2)Queen of the Unwanted by Jenna Glass
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Interesting but typical of the middle books of a trilogy. There is a lot going on as more is revealed. The characters are more fully developed and the world building is more complete. The action is there to get everyone in place for the next book. Nothing is really settled. Just awaiting the next book in the Women's War series.

More to Come

By Darkness Forged (Seeker's Tales From The Golden Age Of The Solar Clipper, #3)By Darkness Forged by Nathan Lowell
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Ish and crew are Back in Toe-Hold space and things just keep getting worse and worse. No profit, crew missing, bandits on board and in the end they come out on top. Look for new crew when the author starts the next trilogy. Hope it arrives soon.

New Trilogy

In Ashes Born (A Seeker's Tale From The Golden Age Of The Solar Clipper Book 1)In Ashes Born by Nathan Lowell
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I said goodby to Ish to soon. This time there is A Seeker's Tale. Ish meets up with an old friend from the first books. Pip is off on a mission and he talks Ish into going along. This is a series set up with some old friends and some new. Also a ship from the past. Great intro with interesting plot features.

Saying Good-by

Owner's Share (Golden Age of the Solar Clipper, #6)Owner's Share by Nathan Lowell
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

It is with a great deal of sadness that I leave Ish. The series has been a wonderful way to pass time while we are all dealing with this pandemic. This time he is a owner and really not by his choice. We leave as he sells the ship and are left wondering what he will do next. Wish there was more.

Love Ish

Captain's Share (Golden Age of the Solar Clipper, #5)Captain's Share by Nathan Lowell
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Ish gets a bad ship again only this time he is the Captain. His tenure is short but his influence is large. Loved seeing how he handled the different problems and people on the ship. Good and enjoyable reading.

Change is Good?

Double Share (Golden Age of the Solar Clipper, #4)Double Share by Nathan Lowell
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Four years have passed and Ish has just finished the Academy and is off to his first posting. Again he see things and does things that bring change and put him on the hot spot. This is not a happy ship but Ish sees ways to make that change. However there are some who do not want change putting Ish in danger. Loved the ending.

Still Reading

Full Share (Golden Age of the Solar Clipper, #3)Full Share by Nathan Lowell
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

A lot more action here as Ish and crew are put in danger when the unexpected happens. Ish really sees things from a different point of view and that makes him very valuable to the crew. Binge reading the series and so far it is fun and interesting.

Fun Series

Half Share (Golden Age of the Solar Clipper, #2)Half Share by Nathan Lowell
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Ish contines to let us share his life as he travels in the Deep Dark. An interesting time in his life and fun to follow him as he works day by day learning about being a spacer. Good series - fun to read.

Nice Addition

The Secret Chapter (The Invisible Library #6)The Secret Chapter by Genevieve Cogman
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Librarian-spy Irene and dragon-prince Kai are off again. This time they are working on a trade that goes very wrong. There is tension and danger making it a fun read. I did feel that the plot was a little thin and the conclusion left a lot up in the air. Still a nice addition to the series.

Low Key

Quarter Share (Golden Age of the Solar Clipper, #1)Quarter Share by Nathan Lowell
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

A nice walk through a future age. The solar sailing is part of the story but really just a nice side element. The main characters are the crew. We follow them on the every day events and watch as they grow and change. There is no danger or tension to the story It is as I said a nice walk in a future time. First in a series. A very good read for any one who likes a low key plot line.

Two Points of View

Credible Threat (Ali Reynolds, #15)Credible Threat by J.A. Jance
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

There is no mystery of who done it. The story has two points of view - the woman who plans a murder and Ali as she tries to find and stop her.. A interesting story line. It has the tension even as it does not have the mystery. It was fund to see Ali again. Hope to see more of B soon. Once again he was off on business.

I received a free copy of the book in return for an honest review.

The Duke is Back

Marry in Scarlet (Marriage of Convenience, #4)Marry in Scarlet by Anne Gracie
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The Duke of Everingham is back and he wants what he wants. Just so happens that Lady Georgiana Rutherford does not want what he wants - to marry her. A fun romp using familiar tropes in a interesting story that grabs your attention and does not let go. Great addition to the Marriage of Convenience series.
