Good Series to Follow

See Her Die (Bree Taggert, #2)See Her Die by Melinda Leigh
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Bree Taggert has her hands full. Her sister's two children, her new job and now a crime that may not be real. The plot is well planned. I loved how Bree handles her problems. Look for a love interest and to see the sisters from the previous series become aside characters in. See Her Die. A good new series to follow.

More To come

The Legacy of Tomorrow (Starhawke Rising Book 4)The Legacy of Tomorrow by Audrey Sharpe
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

We learn a lot more about Aurora in book 4. There is additional world building, character development and characters we see for the first time. The plot brings everyone together as the book ends. Nothing is solved but much is revealed. Now all I need is the next book in the series. Keep writing Audrey.

A Different Dive

Thieves (Diving Universe #8)Thieves by Kristine Kathryn Rusch
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Loved seeing Boss again. She is off on a dive that is not like any before. What she does not know is that she has tripped a alarm and it will have consequences. Off course those are not realized by the end of the book. Now I need the next book but think I will probably have to wait. This was a Kickstarter project. I am ready to support one for the next book.

Another Rogue Bites the Dust

When a Rogue Meets His Match (Greycourt, #2)When a Rogue Meets His Match by Elizabeth Hoyt
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Gideon Hawthorne is the rogue and Messalina Greycourt is his match. Look for a lot of tension, some surprising reveals and how two change their minds and hearts. While Gideon and Messalina find their HEA the real rogue or villain is still out there. They may have gotten away but there are more Greycourt's left to find danger, tension and finally romance.

Two For Price of One

Christmas at Holiday HouseChristmas at Holiday House by RaeAnne Thayne
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

You get two for the price of one in this Christmas novel. Holiday House is the star of this followed by a charming 5 year old named Chris. Add to the mix are a brother and sister who think they cannon fall in love. What a surprise when both are proved wrong. It does take a while for all of this to happen. Look for a nice present read. Great for the Hollidays when we are stuck at home.

New Series

Hawk (Intergalactic Dating Agency / Sky Mates, #1)Hawk by Susan Grant
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

A fun read. I liked the tie in from Susan's previous series. It was nice to know the background between Earth and the Sky Mates. Hawk is a very interesting character. Thinks he does not have a mate so of course he is happy when he finds one. Then something really bad happens. Read to find out the outcome of his mating. Hints about other characters are scattered in the story.

Don't Look Away

Born a Crime: Stories From a South African ChildhoodBorn a Crime: Stories From a South African Childhood by Trevor Noah
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

A interesting look at South Africa. Filled with different moments in Trevor's life this is a look into life in South Africa that we in the US do not often see. I loved Trevor's Mother and how she raised him to be different and very strong. This is for a book club and I foresee a lot of discussion.

New Series

In the BlackIn the Black by Patrick S. Tomlinson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This has that edge that Tomlinson is so good at writing. Two ships with the same problem, some one has set them up. It takes a Captain that takes risks to change the outcome. Great plot with many surprises. This is just the first in the series. It quits when all the main characters are in the same place. Love the series and waiting for the next book.

More About the Past.

Shadows in Death (In Death, #51)Shadows in Death by J.D. Robb
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

A past Roarke would rather forget arrives Eve's crime scene and a whole new danger unravels. Both Eve and Roarke find that they have friends who will stand with them through thick and thin, A really riveting story line that goes from the present in New York to the past in Ireland. Good addition to the series.

Compromise Is The Way

One Night with a Duke (12 Dukes of Christmas #10)One Night with a Duke by Erica Ridley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Jonathan MacLean never returns to a town and this time is no exception. Then he meets the love of his life and he has to learn a new lesson. So does Angelia, the other half of the love of his life. What both have to learn is compromise. That is what leads to a great HEA.

Back Again

Pets in Space 5 (Pets in Space, #5)Pets in Space 5 by S.E. Smith
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Back again with stories from my favorite authors and an introduction to some new authors. Those will probably become favorites too. I love the mix and the different pets. My cat is jealous as she is not featured in any story. Pick this up and remember that money goes to a very good charity.

Prequel

My Last Duchess (The Wildes of Lindow Castle, #0.5)My Last Duchess by Eloisa James
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Hugo does not want another wife. He loved the first and has divorced the second. However he does have 8 chidden so off he goes to the marriage mart where he takes one look at Ophelia and falls in love. Of course it is not immediately returned. Ophelia has a good live and plans to live with her young daughter enjoying their live together. It was fun watching how everything came together and they both get a HEA. A nice prequel to the Wildes of Lindow Castle.

Good To Visit Again

Return to Virgin River (Virgin River, #19)Return to Virgin River by Robyn Carr
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

It has been a long time since I was in Virgin River and I wondered if I would recognize it. It has not changed that much. Two new characters appear and most of the ones from the series. Jack's is still the center of the town and Mel is right there with him. Like many who come to Virgin River Kaylee Sloan is a little lost and is looking to pull out of her grief after her Mother died on Christmas Day. She find more than she expected. There is a lot of visiting and a slow romance. A cute kitten, puppies and two great dogs to add to the mix. A nice story about overcoming grief and finding some unexpected surprises.

New Cause

Silver Creek Fire (Silver Creek, #1)Silver Creek Fire by Lindsay McKenna
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Lea and Logan kick off a new series by Lindsay McKenna. Once again McKenna has cause  to push. This time it is fracking and if you did not know anything about it before you read the story you will have knowledge as you finish. Vets are part of the story but more as a side issue this time. This is a slow burning romance as Lea has some issues from her past that have kept her fearful. Logan is just the one to bring her out of her shell and into the light. Nice setting. I think if we could find that valley we would all move there.

Christmas Magic

A California Christmas (Silver Springs, #7)A California Christmas by Brenda Novak
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Emery Bliss is at a low point in her life when she returns to Silver Springs. Then she reconnect with Dallas and the world changes for her. Also for him but not without some major league readjustments to his thinking. Great to the boys of Silver Springs as they all return for their Mothers wedding. Great story with some surprises scattered throughout story. Christmas does it magic for the characters.

Another difficult Mystery

Murder on Cold Street (Lady Sherlock, #5)Murder on Cold Street by Sherry Thomas
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Charlotte Holmes is off on a new case and it is both interesting and difficult. Lord Ingram is both a help and a distraction. As they work to prove that Inspector Treadles is innocent of the murder he is accused of they have to work with Mrs. Treadles and have to involve several others as they search for the truth. Another great mystery with wonderful characters. Love the interaction between Charlotte and Lord Ingram. I will be looking for more to come between the two.

New Series

The Investigator (Norcross #1)The Investigator by Anna Hackett
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The premise is familiar. A group of men - all ex-military- all were part of a elite group and all start out single. Add a female who is independent but needs help when danger threatens her. Up steps one of the really hot men and romance rears it head. This time the danger comes from a stolen painting and a ex who is in debt to the Russian Mafia. Look for a wild ride as new dangers keep appearing. A hard to put down story that is fast and easy to read.

New Series

Cross Her Heart (Bree Taggert, #1)Cross Her Heart by Melinda Leigh
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Bree Taggert has a history and now it seems to be repeating itself. Her baby sister is dead and it looks like her husband shot and killed her but some do not believe that is the case. Bree partners with Matt a friend of Kevins and Matt thinks he is innocent. Look for disappearing characters, danger, tension and a well planned plot. A great start to a new series. Book two is already out.
