Lavender Blue by Donna Kauffman

Kauffman brings us back to Blue Hollow Falls with the story of two people who have suffered big looses in their lives. What drives the story is how they reacted in a very different way. I loved both Hannah Montgomery and Will McCall. While the story is about life after loss it is not that dark. In fact there are some entertaining moments that brought a nice laugh. A very nice addition to the series and an introduction to several characters who seem ripe for their own story and HEA.

Mystic by Cheryl Brooks

I loved the Cat Star series and was glad to see that Cheryl has taken us back to that world. This time it is the children of the original character who take center stage. I like the first book in the series but think this one is much better. I liked the danger that the characters find themselves in. Their reaction sets the stage for some very dangerous actions. For a change Sulaksha Enduran does not react to Aidan Banadänsk when they first meet. This time the romance builds as the story progresses. Sula and Aidan do a great job carrying the story and they are aided with some very interesting side characters. Great story with plenty of leads to future Cat Star books.

Wrangler's Challenge by Lindsay McKenna

I always look forward to the next Wind River Valley book. This time the new vet is Dair Wilson whose job in the military was handling a WMD dog as part of a team. When a IED went off she lost part of her leg and her foot. She needs a job and a place to stay and the ranch at Wind River Valley is the perfect place. Not only does she have a job she works with Noah Mabry. Noah has just the right touch to bring Dair out of her shell and into a world where she can trust men for the first time. This is a nice sweet story with some tension. I loved how Noah seemed to get just how to deal with Dair and all of her insecurities. There is still Shaylene's angry father to deal with but that seems to be on the road to closure. A nice series that features vets who have seen the unseeable and are suffering from PTSD as a result.

The Inn at Blue Hollow Falls by Donna Kauffman

Stevie Franklin has come over Christmas to help at that beautiful old greenhouse. Turns out we see more of the Inn at Blue Hollow Falls than we do the greenhouse. Noah Tyler is the innkeeper and he and Stevie click from the very beginning. When the snow comes down and the power goes out Stevie does not sit around, she helps. I loved watching the attraction between Stevie and Noah develop. They both knew it was something special and they needed take a chance and explore their feeling. Great scenes and interesting characters abound in the story. I loved the way the story worked out.

Discovering Miss Dalrymple by Emily Larkin

The Baleful Godmother has come and gone almost a year ago and Georgiana asked for the ability to find things. She found what happened to her fiancée several years ago and she is now ready to move forward with her life. Georgiana is a great character. She is generous and loving and hoping that Alexander St Clare, Duke of Vickery turns her love. That goes on a very different track when Alexander asks her to find out where he was when he was stolen as a child years ago. Alexander is torn when he learns both the answer and the gift Georgiana got from her godmother. This one is a little different. The focus is not on Georgiana, it is on Alexander and his struggle to find the balance between who he though he was and who he really is. A very nice addition to the story line. The change in focus helps keep the series fresh and new.  The book comes out Oc 27.  I could not wait to read and started it as soon as I got it downloaded.

I purchased this when it first came out and somehow it ended up near the bottom of my TBR pile. I pulled it out when I saw that the next book in the series would be out next month. I loved the book. When Nikolas encounters Sophie, (the two main characters in the book), just just know sparks are going to fly and they do. That is just part of the plot line. Sophie has a unique ability that Nikolas wants to use to help his people return home after hundreds of years but a unexpected source is working to stop him. A really great start to a new series set in the Elder Races world. This does come to a nice conclusion but it also sets up new backstory and world building. I am so ready for the next book to arrive.


Blue Hollow Falls by Donna Kauffman

In just one day life changes for Sunny (who has three middle names) Goodwin. She goes from having no family to having a new half-sister. I loved the setting. The Blue Ridge mountains in Virginia are full of great views and Kauffman puts them to great use. This is a story about choices and what makes a family. Sunny lives near DC. Her new family and her new love interest live in Blue Hollow Falls, three hours away. There does not seem to be a way for things to work out but never give up is also a big part of the story. There are two great main characters and several interesting side characters who look to have great potential for their own HEA in future books. This one is a keeper on the favorites shelf.

Branded as Trouble by Delores Fossen

Roman Granger, the Granger's bad boy, has finally met his match in Mila Banchini who has had a crush on Roman since their high school days. My favorite scene in the book was between Roman and his 13 year old son, Tate. Tate asked just the right question of Roman who avoids relationship like they are a plague. Roman says he is bad at relationships and Tate asked him how he knows. Just the right question at the right time. The other Granger's make a appearance in the story and at least one other gets an HEA. This had some really great laugh out loud moments while also dealing with some of the very serious issues facing teens today. A very nice addition to the Wrangler Creek series.
