Mail-Order Brides of Oak Grove: Surprise Bride for the Cowboy\Taming the Runaway BrideMail-Order Brides of Oak Grove: Surprise Bride for the Cowboy\Taming the Runaway Bride by Lauri Robinson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is a book with two stories by two different authors. Two twins have arrived in Oak Grove as mail order brides. Neither plans to marry.

Surprise Bride for the Cowboy is Lauri Robinson's. I have been a Lauri Robinson fan for years and always look forward to her books. I picked this one up and read it straight through. Mary is such a great character. She tries to be very strong and independent. Getting a job cooking on a ranch is part of her escape plan from marriage. She will make enough money and leave town. Of course thing do not work out that way. The ranch owner, Steve Putnam, changes her mind about love and marriage.

Taming the Runaway Bride by Kathryn Albright is the second book. This time it is the other twin Maggie who has a change of heart. While Mary sneaked out of town Maggie stayed. She loved having a hotel room with a nice bed and hot baths but like Mary planned to made enough money to leave before she had to wed. Jackson Miller is the one to change her mind. Neither want to marry so of course they fall in love but have a few problems alone the way to their HEA.

While both are great stories Surprise Bride for the Cowboy was my favorite.

The Debutante's Daring Proposal (Regency Bachelors #2)The Debutante's Daring Proposal by Annie Burrows
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Georgiana and Edmund were childhood friends but were separated 10 years ago. They promised to write and keep in touch but someone made sure that did not happen. Both wrote and through that their letter were not answered. Now Georgiana needs help and turns to her old friend asking him to marry her. The story moves from there. Both have to turn loose of past hurts as they find that their friendship is still there but buried. This is a great story about friendship and love and putting the past in the past. Both discover that what they through happened was untrue and that someone worked very hard to keep them apart. That made for a very special HEA. A great story with a complicated plot and great characters. My first time to read a book by Annie Burrows but it will not be the last.
