Assassins in Love by Kris DeLake

Science Fiction Romance
Assassins in Love has two very strong main characters.
Misha is a trained assassin and a member of the Assassins Guild.  He is a by the book guy who does not like anyone who free lances as an assassin and now he is being blamed for someone else’s jobs.
Rikki is another assassin but not a member of the Guild.  She stays out of Guild territory and wants nothing to do with the Guild rules and regulations.  Unfortunately she is the one whose jobs are being blamed on Misha.
The two met in the past and have a history but Rikki does not remember, in fact she has blocked all memory of the events where they met.  Now they are on a collision course and more is at stake than either of them knows.
Here is what Goodreads says about the book:
When one killer falls for another

Agent: Misha
Profile: Highly trained in every method the assassins guild has to offer. Always goes by the book.

Agent: Rikki
Profile: Rogue assassin who kills only to rid the world of hardened criminals. Hates organizations. Always does it her way.

Love becomes a matter of life and death

Misha's mission is to get Rikki to join the guild or give up her guns. He completely underestimated the effect she would have on him...and what heat and chaos they could bring to each other.
Kris DeLake is a pen name of one of my favorite Science Fiction writers, Kristine Kathryn Rusch.  I had read parts of this book when they were published as a short novella under Kristine Kathryn Rusch’s name.  I didn’t know what to expect from the book as Rusch changes her style of writing when she publishes under a different name.  While this was different from her Science Fiction books it held up well as a Science Fiction Romance novel.  There was conflict, tension, a well developed plot and of course romance.  I hope that this is part of a new series and there will be more to come.
Sourcebooks published Assassins in Love by Kris DeLake in 2012.
