I kept reading Unbound thinking that I would get some resolution to Synthia 's troubles. What I got instead is a story where Synthia is constantly escaping form capture but her base problem is never solved. In fact the ending left here at the same spot she was in when book one ended. The only difference is she is with another person. I hope book three gives some resolution.

A Promise of Fire by Amanda BouchetMy rating: 4 of 5 stars
Cat is hiding and has been for years. Now she has been found but not totally revealed. This had a great premise as Cat is a Kingmaker, she can sense lies in others. This makes her very valuable and Griffin knows just how he wants to use her. While the action and tension in the book was very high I did get tired of Cat and her stomach flutters for the first half and all of the sex in the second. If you took those parts out it would have been novella length. I do what to know where the story goes from here so will read the next book in the series.
