Musing Mondays January 23, 2012

This week’s musing asks…
Why do you think that the Young Adult genre is so popular with even the adult readers? Do you read YA books, yourself?

Musing Mondays is sponsored by Should Be Reading.

I think that the story lines are what a catching on with both Young Adults and adult readers.  I don't read much YA but when I do it reminds me of the adult fiction I read years ago.  I am reading more YA as I find reviews on other blogs.  It is just a small percent of what I read and that percent probably will not increase.

I am by no means a big YA reader, but I have read a few good ones. I think sometimes people are looking for a more direct book, with a good story and some YA fit that bill.

Six months ago, I rarely read YA (aside from the big ones - Twilight, Hunger Games, HP.)

However, since discovering more of YA? It's mostly all I read. I love that you can take dystopian and fantasy plots to places you could never do in an adult setting. I love that you can relive your first love (Anna and the French Kiss is an excellent example). There is just so much more you can do that you can't in adult books.

Yes, the storylines in YA books are pretty attractive :)
