From Alien Separation by Gina Koch.  This is the lastest in the Kitty books and like the others Kitty and friends are off on a very wild ride.  This is a really fun series is you like SciFi  that has great characters and fun plots.  This time Gina has outdone herself with the new species she created for the book.   Alien Separation can stand-alone but read the entire series for maximum entertainment.  Today is release day for Alien Separation

Stacking the Shelves, November 22, 2014

Books Stacked on My Shelves

I received just a few books this week.
I won Unidentified Funny Objects 3 from Gina Koch.

I purchased The Magic Wakes by Charity Bradford.  She is a local author who writes Science Fiction Romance. I met here at a Christmas Bazaar then went online to Amazon and purchased the book.

In addition I purchased two Harlequin books.  Deliverance at Cardwell Ranch (Cardwell Cousins series) by B.J. Daniels.  I love her Harlequin Intrigue series and make it a point to read them as soon as they come out.

I also got The Maverick's Thanksgiving Baby (Montana Mavericks - Twenty Years In the Saddle) by Brenda Harlan.   There have been books by different authors published all year making the anniversary of the series.

Teaser Tuesday July 31, 2012

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

  • Grab your current read
  • Open to a random page
  • Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
  • BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
  • Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers.
Alien Diplomacy (Katherine "Kitty" Katt, #5)My teaser is from Alien Diplomacy by Gini Koch.  It has been on my TBR pile since it came out and I just worked my way down to it.  (Gini in case you are reading this I may have just gotten around to read the book but I did pre-order.)  Kitty is still at it as you can tell from my teaser.  All of this  has already happened and it is just page 55.

"I didn't think discussing the limo's explosion, the presidential assassination attempt, our chase through the street of D. C. or who Mr Joel Olive thought was following him were wise topics, so we chatted about the weather."

"Okay, no one got on the buswith us, no one got off the bus with us, I see no taxis with poorly disguised drivers around, so if whoever else was following you is still on your tail, they'll need to park."

The Martian Alliance 1: The Royal Scam by Gini Koch

Space Opera/Science Fiction Romance

I have two complaints about The Royal Scam.  First and foremost it just was not long enough.  It is listed as a short story and it is.  Thankfully there are to be more to follow.  My second is unusual.  After I bought The Royal Scam from Musa and downloaded it to my computer I tried to side load to my Nook (the only way to get it there if I did not buy from Barnes and Noble) I was told I did not have permission to load the story to that location.  It took me a long to read because I had to read on my computer and I kept forgetting it was there.

Now to the story:  It is fast paced, full of action and humor.  Gina managed great character development in a short number of words. By the end of the story I felt like I knew most of the crew of the Hummingbird.  There are no wasted words in the story; each is used to convey something important to the reader.  Things are not as they seem at the beginning of the story and there is a lot of room for future adventures with the crew of the Hummingbird.

I don’t want to give any of the story away so just let me urge you to buy and read The Royal Scam.  If you were not a Gini Koch fan before you read it you will be after.  I consider it to be a must have short story for Space Opera/SFR Fans.

Musa Publishing published The Royal Scam by Gini Koch in 2011.

Alien in the Family by Gini Koch

Alien in the Family
Science Fiction Romance

Alien in the Family is full of surprises.  Kitty and Jeff are planning their wedding when a brand new complication comes up.  It seems that Jeff is descended from the Alpha Centaurion Royal Family and emissaries from the family are coming to Earth to test Kitty’s fitness to be a royal bride.  Of course that is not all that shows up.  Expect several new species of aliens, some friendly and some not.  Kitty also gets a new alien pet, one that is fuzzy and cute, and a new alien female best friend.  Through it all it is  Kitty who sees the big picture and saves the day.

The wedding does take place but rest assured, there is little resemblance to the coming wedding of William and Kate.

Once again Gini Koch delivers a fun story full of action, adventure, and romance.  Alien in the Family is full of wonderful characters that are ripe for more adventure. The next book in the series, Alien Proliferation, will be available in December.  Maybe  we will find the answer to one of Kitty’s big questions.  Why none of the Dazzlers are coming on to Chuckie.  After all they love men with brains and in the brain department Chuckie stands out.

DAW published Alien in the Family by Gini Koch in 2011.

I ordered Alien in the Family from Amazon.
