This is from Willful Child by Steven Erikson. The speaker here is an AI who has taken control of the Willful Child and he is talking to the Captain who has stated he does not have a death wish even if some of his action may look like he does. It seems to be a Star Trek parody making for a really crazy Science Fiction read.
