Historical Fiction
From Goodreads:
The
bride and groom cordially request your presence for a wedding at Millworth
Manor. . .
Guests
will include Jackson Quincy Graham Channing, New York City banker, and Lady
Theodosia "Teddy" Winslow, wedding planner to the finest families in
England.
Introductions
shall be followed by light conversation, dancing, flirtation, arguing,
reconciliation, and an impulsive kiss that both parties are quite certain they
will never repeat.
Until
they do.
A
mutually beneficial fake engagement will be accompanied by all manner of very
real complications, scandalous revelations, nefarious schemes, and one
inescapable conclusion:
That true love--unlike the perfect
wedding--is impossible to plan. . .
Both Lady Theodosia “Teddy” Winslow
and Jackson Quincy Graham Channing are people who plan and follow through. At least until they plan and do
not. That fact is at the heart of
the plot in The Shocking Secret of a Guest at the Wedding. It is a fun romp to follow both Teddy
and Jack. Teddy’s life changed
with the death of her Father and Jack’s changes when he finds his Father is not
dead but very much alive. For Jack
that means his whole life plan changes.
For Teddy it meant a new plan for her life.
The writing is filled with
humor. The characters are
fun. (My favorite is Lucy. I really hope she gets her own story.) There is romance through out the book
and not just for the two main characters.
Sex is at a minimum. I did
have to skim thought too many pages.
All in all the book is a
great addition to the Millworth Manor series.
Zebra published The Shocking Secretof a Guest at the Wedding by Victoria Alexander in 2014.
I received an ARC of The Shocking
Secret of a Guest at the Wedding from Netgalley in return for an honest review.
