Death in the English Countryside by Sara Rosett
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
A fun mystery that starts and ends in California. So why the English Countryside? That is where location scout Kate Sharp goes when her boss ends up missing. From there you get a look at the village of Nether Woodsmoor and the houses that would fit the bill for locations needed to film a adaptation of Pride and Prejudice. Filled with interesting characters and locations this has just the right amount of mystery to keep your attention. Sarah Mollo-Christensen does a great job on the different voices and on keeping the pacing to match the plot line.
Constance Verity Saves the World by A. Lee Martinez
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Constance Verity is an over the top characters who just cannot stop saving the world. That is causing trouble in her love life. With a great side kick and outstanding problems you wonder if Constance will ever have a normal life. I loved all of the characters who could have been bad but were not. Then there were the real villains or maybe only one villain it was sometimes hard to tell. Book two in the series but works find as a stand alone.
