From Goodreads:
He's
determined to uncover the truth behind a decades-old disappearance—even if it
kills him...
When
hotshot reporter Max Malone gets a rare shot of Buckmaster Hamilton with a
blonde woman near Beartooth, Montana, he chases down one of the senator's
daughters to verify that the woman is his supposedly long-dead first wife. But
Kat Hamilton won't give him the time of day, let alone any information about
her mother.
With his tousled blond hair, sexy
stubble and an old straw cowboy hat topping off his long, lean frame, Kat can
just tell Max isn't used to female sources denying him anything. But when her
own life is put in jeopardy, it's Max who comes to her rescue. Seems someone is
prepared to kill to keep the past in the past. Kat can't deny she needs Max to
find out what happened to her mother, but will getting closer and closer to
each other lead them to the truth... or to danger?
Book three of the Montana Hamiltons
continues the mystery, tension, danger and romance that is a hallmark of the
series. In fact that is a hallmark
of all of B.J. Daniels series.
This time it is Kat Hamilton who is
at the middle of the mystery and romance.
She and reporter Max Malone meet and clash only to find that they need
to work together to try to unravel where Sarah Hamilton has been for the last
22 years. That search takes them
on a journey that uncovers a past and present danger.
This is another hard to put down
story that uncovers more about Sarah and her disappearance but still leaves
much to be discovered. Look for
another surprise at the end.
Kat and Max are a great couple and
I loved how their romance progressed.
There was a slow burn that kept building in the backgound. It added to the tension that was
already at a high level as they investigated Sarah and her disappearance.
It is best to start this series from the beginning but you can start here. I think Lucky Shot is the best book of the series. I am looking forward to more about the Montana Hamilton's and the mystery of Sarah. Pick up Lucky Shot and you will not
be able to put it down.
Harlequin published Lucky Shot by
B.J. Daniels in 2015.
I received an ARC of Lucky Shot from
Netgalley in return for an honest review.
