Short and Sweet Book Reviews #120 - Leave the Night On by Laura Trentham, Tomorrow's Kin by Nancy Kress, Indigo Lake by Jodi Thomas

Leave The Night On (Cottonbloom, #4)Leave The Night On by Laura Trentham
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I loved the characters and setting for Leave the Night On. Sutton Mize and Wyatt Abbott are true to their southern roots. Instead of the right or wrong side of the tracks we have the right and wrong side of the Mississippi River. Sutton lives on the right side, Wyatt on the wrong but they still manage to connect. Sutton finds out a cheating fiancée is a blessing while Wyatt gets the girl of his dreams. Along the way Wyatt encourages Sutton to follow her dream and Sutton helps Wyatt deal with some very difficult family matters. There are three other Abbott brothers who need a HEA so Cottonwood should feel the heat as more Abbott's find romance but not without problems.

Tomorrow's Kin (Yesterday's Kin Trilogy, #1)Tomorrow's Kin by Nancy Kress
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

If you read the novella Yesterday's Kin you can skip the first part of this book and start on part two. Part one is the same and the addition starts with part two. I have to say I was very disappointed. I loved the novella but it just went downhill after the aliens left. I kept reading and hoping that I would like the addition but I just found it boring. Spaceships were being built and there was danger but the plot just did not make that much sense. I will continue with book two and hope it is better.

Indigo Lake (Ransom Canyon #6)Indigo Lake by Jodi Thomas
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The Hamilton-Collins feud is settled as we meet several new characters in the series. At the same time two of the original characters in the series finally get their HEA. In typical Jodi Thomas fashion a large group of characters fill the pages with danger, tension, and romance. I loved seeing the new characters as I also got to visit with some old friends. A good addition to the Ransom Canyon series. It can stand alone but is more fun if you start at the beginning.
