Urban Fantasy
From Goodreads:
In the
year since her life was torn apart, Kit Colbana has slowly rebuilt herself.
There’s a promise of hope in the relationship with the alpha of the local
shapeshifters and she no longer comes screaming into wakefulness. Life’s not
perfect but then again, when was it ever?
When her
best friend Justin comes to her for help, there’s little question as to what
her answer will be. Witches are disappearing and Justin won’t rest until he has
answers. Soon, they learn that it’s not just witches who’ve gone missing, but
vampires and shifters, too.
Unlikely alliances are forged as
Kit and Justin found themselves drawn into a twisted web of lies and betrayal.
As the clock counts down and the culprit behind recent disappearances is
revealed, those Kit loves the most become the target of somebody who will kill
to protect an ugly secret.
Edged Blade is the book that sets up
the next problem in the series. While
Kit still has nightmares about everything that happened a year ago she has
learned to live with it and is moving on with her life.
Justin is back and needs help. Every part of the NH (Not Human)
population ends up being drawn into the problem. While there is some resolution the problem is much bigger
than anyone thought. Watch for a
surprise ending. I kept looking
for the next page after that last sentence. Then I realized that the next page was really the next book.
Once again Daniels has produced a riveting
tension filled story that adds to the world building and character development
in the series. It is also a bridge
between the last three books and future stories.
Edged Blade can be read as a stand alone
but start at the beginning of the series for further enjoyment.
Shiloh Walker, Inc. published Edged Blade by Shiloh Walker in 2015.
I received an ARC of Edged Blade
from Netgalley in return for an honest review.
